Carlsbad is located along the Southern California coast, just 35 miles north of San Diego and 35 miles south of Irvine. It is a place of raw beauty and picturesque scenery, with beaches and lagoons, flower fields and parks, shopping and places of interest.

The City of Carlsbad was founded in 1952, but its history extends back to the Spanish exploration and move up the California coast along El Camino Real. The area known as Aqua Hedionda Lagoon was at the center of the first development here, and then subsequently with land grants and easements provided by forward looking pioneers, the City of Carlsbad took root. A right of way for trains helped put Carlsbad in the center of industry and transport from the Los Angeles area down to the City of San Diego. Agriculture and the allure of this “sleepy” beach town contributed to the area expanding from the coast inward.
The Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce began its history here in Carlsbad in the 1920′s, and so from then until Carlsbad became a city in 1952 the Chamber was the voice and primary business voice in this community. Now located at a beautiful facility at 5934 Priestly Drive in Carlsbad, this is a terrific place to start your search for business opportunities in the Carlsbad area.
